Contrary to what the title or the preview picture may suggest, this article is not about inter-human relationships. Staying true to the title however, it is an article on engagements, only of a different type. The one between the thoughts and emotions which leads to a harmonious state of consciousness. Some call this state the FLOW, some call it ‘being in their zone’, some think of it as bliss and some say, it is simply happiness.

Before moving further, I would first like to delve into happiness. I have touched upon it earlier as well but this time in a…

As I set out to write this article, I ended up writing a poem instead. The image that you see on top is actually a poem which beautifully(well almost) summarises my thoughts about this topic. But I couldn’t have left without addressing it in an article either. I will try to keep it short and crisp though.

While passing through a market have you ever noticed the various shops and business establishments? While some of the stores are packed with customers, some are moderately full, and others are absolutely empty. All these stores are in the same market and most…

I was strolling down the road the other day when a car passed by. It seemed like a new model that I had not seen on the road before or know about. At first, the car seemed rather strange to me really with it’s disproportionately tall back and unnecessarily long hood. And then suddenly I happened to notice the brand symbol. It was a BMW car and now suddenly it didn’t seem that awkward after all. In fact now, I was almost in awe of it!

I decided to address this issue of brand consciousness because I have been writing…

In the last article we tried to determine the concept of Today I want to talk about something more fundamental — our relationship with money and how it shapes us as individuals.

Before moving ahead, just take a minute here to see how you feel when you think about money. Do you feel insecure;or confident? Do you feel anxious; or indifferent? Do you feel empowered; or helpless? The way you feel is what determines your relationship with money and being conscious about it can be the first step to a change.

From all that I have read, I have…

The feedback that I received for my previous article was that it was an open ended one. While I did propose a dilemma, I did not share a resolution. That was partly intentional and partly short sighted. With this article I would like to further delve into a concept that answers questions raised earlier.

One of the most important understandings when it comes to money, as far as I am concerned, is the comprehension of

Let’s take a moment to first consider this question — CAN HAPPINIESS BE MONETISED? I have been meditating on this question all week and…

I have been wanting to write about this for a very long time, but did not know what approach to take. I still am not very clear about the approach but I decided to get on with it anyway. It is something that affects us all and it is what the world runs on. Having little of it is a problem, having lots of it could be tragic and the irony is that it is hardly enough! Without further ado, ladies and gentlemen I would now like to address the elephant in the room —

By its very definition…

I was first introduced to meditation in my second year of engineering. I was feeling lonely and low and there was an Art of Living workshop happening in my neighborhood so I signed up for it. I distinctly remember my first encounter with the practice. Our instructor asked all of us to simply close our eyes and focus on our breath. That part was alright I suppose. Forty seconds into the practice, he asked us to smile with our eyes closed and notice how we felt. That was the moment of change for me. The second I smiled with my…

The human mind has anywhere between 40,000 to 50,000 thoughts in a day. Would you believe that about your mind or would you say I’m lying? If you believe it, would you be able to recollect those thoughts, those 40,000 something thoughts? And what are these thoughts after all?

While they are all creations of the mind, how many of them are really productive and serve us in the long run? How many of them are trivial and serve no purpose in our lives even if they don’t make our situation worse? …

I was at the food court of a shopping mall with my wife and my two-year-old son. A gentleman sitting at a table alongside was busy ripping into the leg piece of a chicken. My wife was disgusted at the sight of it. My son was very inquisitive as to what the gentleman was eating. I, on the other hand, have had my fair encounters with meat to neither be moved by the sight nor be puzzled by it. My wife grew up in a typical Jain household where perhaps even the very thought of nonvegetarian food was forbidden. …

First things first, in case you are wondering what means, this is the definition — the faculty or phenomenon of finding valuable or agreeable things not sought for. It can also be said to be the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way. Simply put it would boil down to being at the right place at the right time.

Do you know people who are just in life? Are you one of those who has never had to for anything in life? Do you know the kind of people…
